FAQ

Common questions

Getting started

Do I need an account?

No. All lessons, practice and review work without one. A free account (ages 13+) syncs your progress across devices and lets you turn on weekly leagues, your school's leaderboard, friends and classes.

Is there an Android or web version?

Not yet. Studodo is an iPhone app for now (iOS). If a teacher uses Studodo with a class, students without an iPhone shouldn't be graded on it.

What are leagues and school boards?

Optional weekly leaderboards. A league groups you with about 30 students; a school board ranks students at the school you pick. Both are off until you turn them on in Settings → Privacy, and they only show your username, cartoon avatar and weekly XP.

How do I join my teacher's class?

Sign in, tap Classes on Home (turn Classes on there if you haven't, or in Settings → Privacy), then under Join a class type the 6-character code from your teacher or scan their QR poster with your iPhone Camera. You'll see exactly what your teacher will see before you join. How classes work.

Your account and data

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Account → Delete account. This permanently erases your account and its data. If you can't open the app, email us from your account's email address and we'll delete it for you.

How do I see or export my data?

Profile → Privacy & data shows what's saved. To download a copy of your progress, go to Settings → Your data → Export. Signed in, "Download everything we have about me" there gives you what our server keeps, including your class records.

I'm a parent. What can I see or control?

See For parents: who sees what, the optional parent PIN and family link (a read-only weekly summary), Screen Time tips, and a form to ask us to delete or export your teen's data.

My progress isn't showing on my other device.

Sign in with the same account on both, and check that both are online. Progress syncs within about 30 seconds while you study, and right away when you finish a lesson or close the app.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and we'll email you a reset link. If you use Sign in with Apple, there's no Studodo password: just tap Sign in with Apple.

Safety and fixes

Someone is bothering me on a leaderboard.

Tap the flag next to their username on a league, school board or unit leaderboard, or open their profile card, to report or block them. Blocked people can't see you, find you or send you anything. We review reports quickly.

I found a wrong answer.

In a quiz or test, tap the flag on the question to report it. For anything else, email us the course, lesson and question and we'll fix it.

Study reminders aren't showing up.

Check the reminder setting in the app's Settings, and make sure notifications for Studodo are allowed in your iPhone's Settings.

For teachers

I forgot my teacher dashboard password.

On the teacher dashboard sign-in, choose "Forgot password?" and we'll email a reset link. If you signed up with Sign in with Apple, there's no password: use the Apple button. It's the same account as in the app.

A student can't find my class.

Check the code together (codes never use 0, O, 1 or I), make sure the student is signed in and 13 or older, and check that the class isn't Closed or full (60 students). If the class is set to "I approve each student", the request waits on your Roster tab until you approve it.

How do I start a new school year?

Make a new class for each new group and share its new code. Download the gradebook CSV from the old class first, then close it when you're done; closing deletes its assignments and results. To move a student who switched periods, use Move on the Roster tab.

How does Studodo handle FERPA and COPPA?

When a school uses Studodo, we act under the school's direction: we use student information only for the class, never sell it, never advertise, and delete it on request. Accounts and classes are limited to ages 13 and up; we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. We'll sign a data privacy agreement with a school that needs one. Details are in the Privacy Policy under For schools.

Accessibility

Does Studodo work with VoiceOver and large text?

Mostly, yes. Every screen has a heading, answer buttons say whether a pick was right or wrong in words (not only color), and focus moves to the next question. Text follows your iPhone's Text Size up to about twice the normal size; Settings → Text size also goes to "Biggest (2×)". Settings → Accessibility has an easy-read font, high contrast and reduce motion, and lessons can be read aloud.

What doesn't work well yet?

Some question types are built around a picture: finding a place on a map, tapping a spot on a diagram, and placing a point on a graph. With VoiceOver these can be hard or impossible today; text alternatives are being added. Listening steps in language courses need sound. Our automated checks pass, but we haven't finished a full manual VoiceOver review. Teachers of a student who is blind or has low vision: please tell us what you need.

How do I report an accessibility problem?

Email support@studodo.com with the screen and what happened. Schools that need an accessibility conformance report (VPAT/ACR) can ask at the same address.
